Grandma Sharon’s Homemade Spaghetti Sauce and Meatballs

This homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs recipes holds a special place in my heart. My Grandma Sharon used to make this for our family at get-togethers at her house. I can so vividly remember the smell of her house when we walked in. It smelled like heaven. My mouth would start salivating immediately!

This isn’t your average homemade spaghetti sauce recipe, it has a unique taste that I’ve never experienced in any other spaghetti sauce. What makes this particular homemade spaghetti sauce stand out from the competition is two secret ingredients: allspice and fennel. However, they are both strong flavors so you have to be modest with them.

Whenever I make this homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs for my own family, our whole house smells like Grandma Sharon and it brings me so much joy and comfort. Not to mention, it’s absolutely delicious! My one year old even devours a whole bowl to himself – and he’s a picky little dude 🙂

When Grandma Sharon passed away, I was bummed that she didn’t leave the recipe, so my dad did some experimenting and after a few rounds of trial and error, he got it right. And now I’ve pretty much perfected it.

I hope you give this recipe and try and love it as much as we do.
